Caroline Locher has been general secretary of the Quebec Press Council since 2017. Previously, she headed the Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec (FPJQ). As a journalist, she worked for the BBC in London, France24 in Paris, and CBC/Radio-Canada in Montreal and Toronto. She studied management at McGill University (Bcom 2001) and journalism at Concordia University (Graduate Diploma 2005), where she was awarded the CBC Joan Donaldson Scholarship. As a lecturer at Université de Montréal, she taught the course Éthique et déontologie du journalisme.

Pierre Trudel is a full professor at the Centre de recherche en droit public (CRDP), Faculty of Law, Université de Montréal. Since 2017, he has been a Fellow of theRoyal Society of Canada. A member of the Québec Bar since 1977, he has been a guest professor at Université Laval (Québec), Université Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) and Université Namur (Belgium).

From 2003 to 2015, he was the first holder of the L.R. Wilson Chair in Information Technology and E-Commerce Law. In 2018, he was appointed by the Government of Canada as a member of theExpert Panel on the Review of Broadcasting and Telecommunications Legislation. Since 2020, he has been a member of theAcademic Freedom Committee of the Fédération québécoise de professeures et professeurs d'université (FQPPU).In 2022, he co-chaired a pan-Canadian panel on online security and harmful content under the auspices of the Department of Canadian Heritage.

In 2010, he obtained a Master's degree in public international law, with a focus on human rights. That same year, an internship in the development of popular legal practices crystallized his interest in access to knowledge and the empowerment of individuals and communities. He then reoriented his career towards communications. Since then, he has worked for organizations that focus on accessibility and inclusivity, such as collective enterprises and, more recently, SOQUIJ, where he had the opportunity to participate in the JuridiQC project.
