Services offered

The JBM offers a variety of free legal services to the public and businesses:

This service enables you to meet a volunteer lawyer by appointment for around twenty minutes to receive information on the preparation and conduct of the hearing. The service is only available to parties not represented by a lawyer.

This service is aimed at entrepreneurs starting up their own business. This service has been set up to enable you to discuss your project and its legal aspects free of charge, during a one-hour legal consultation with a lawyer.

This service is designed to provide ad hoc assistance to unrepresented litigants before the Municipal Court of Montreal, in criminal or penal matters (e.g. hit-and-run, speeding, etc.).

If you're aged between 12 and 21, you can talk free of charge to a volunteer lawyer about any legal issues that concern you, in complete confidentiality.

This service, offered two weekends a year (April and October), gives you free access to a lawyer to inform you of your rights and obligations.

We are pleased to provide you with two free, practical guides.
