
Stemming from a long European tradition, the “YBAM Oratory Competition” aims at highlighting the qualities of eloquence, rhetoric and general knowledge of each candidate. Wit and humor are encouraged and “Court room drama” is expected!
The talent and quality of presentation of the participants will be evaluated by a jury composed of
judges from the Court of Appeal,
Human Rights Tribunal,
members of the Council of the Bar of Montreal,
experienced litigators and public personalities.
The winner of the competition will receive a plane ticket to represent the Young Bar Association of Montreal at the ABA-YLD’s International Oratory Competition

The 2011 YBAM English Oratory Competition will be held on June 21st, 2011, at the Quebec Court of Appeal in Montreal. All members of the YBAM are encouraged to submit their candidacy to plead one of the following topics :
- You snooze you loose
- Curiosity killed the cat
- Success is a matter of luck - just ask any failure
- You cannot control without being controlled

Time : 6:00PM to 8:30PM, followed by a Cocktail
