Service in Preparation for a Hearing held before the Court of Québec, Small Claims Division
This service allows you to meet a volunteer lawyer for approximately 20 minutes at no cost. You will receive tips on how to prepare your file and on the process that takes place at the hearing held before the Court of Québec, Small Claims Division. This service is only offered to parties which are not represented by a lawyer and which have received a summons to appear at a hearing held before the Court of Québec, Small Claims Division, in the district of Montréal.
The service is available from Monday to Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., upon appointment. The number of places available is therefore limited.
- No legal advice will be given;
- You will not be given an appointment if you do not have a hearing date; and
- No appointment will be given if the hearing date is in less than 15 days.
Please be aware that it is possible for a law student to accompany the volunteer lawyer at the consultations offered within the Service in Preparation for a Hearing. If this is the case, the law student will only act as an observer. As such, he has signed a confidentiality agreement with regard to all of the information that is given during the consultation.
Service in Preparation for a Hearing held before the Labour Relations Commission
This service allows you to meet a volunteer lawyer for approximately 20 minutes at no cost. You will receive tips on how to prepare your file and on the process that takes place at the hearing held before the The Labour Relations Commission.
This service is only offered to parties which are not represented by a lawyer and which have filed a complaint in accordance to sections 47.2 and following “Behaviour of certified association” of the Labour Code of Québec who have duly received a summons to appear at a hearing held before the Commission des relations du travail, in the district of Montréal.
The service is offered on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., upon appointment only. The number of places available is therefore limited.

This service is only offered to parties which are not represented by a lawyer and which have received a summons to appear at a hearing held before the Régie du logement, in the district of Montréal.
The service is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., upon appointment only. The number of places available is therefore limited.

How to prepare for a hearing
These services are closed for the summer season and will reopen on August 30rd.
