- Taking public stands on current legal issues
- Communicating the position of the YBAM to its members and the media
- Advising the YBAM with respect to statements made to the media and the public
- Maintaining the influence and visibility of the YBAM in the media
- Collaborating with other organizations representing youth interests (eg. Forum jeunesse)
- Organizing a conference on a topic of public interest
